I’m a licensed psychotherapist (LCSW) and former corporate attorney, now based in New York City. I work with students, young professionals, and emerging leaders who often feel capable and accomplished on the outside but unsettled or stuck internally. I provide depth-oriented, relational therapy, helping clients explore patterns in relationships, identity, and emotional life. My work is informed by attachment, parts-based approaches (IFS), and somatic awareness, with extensive experience supporting trauma survivors. In our work together, I aim to create a reflective, safe space where you can explore what’s really behind the surface of your experiences, without manuals, homework, or pressure. I pay close attention to the relational dynamics between us, while giving you room to wander and discover. I work with adults, couples, and emerging adults, and I also facilitate two small support groups: one for male survivors of childhood sexual abuse and one for new therapists navigating their early clinical work.
Charlie Health is a virtual behavioral health program for adolescents and young adults with moderate or severe mental health concerns or co-occurring substance use or eating disorders. Designed to meet the needs of those who require more than weekly therapy, our program combines curated group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy into personalized treatment programs. We are helping to serve those who are in crisis, or have been historically underserved, by eliminating the most significant treatment barriers: geographical and financial access. We work with nearly all commercial insurance nationwide and have no waitlist, thereby helping people access quality, evidence-based care regardless of insurance, location, or other barriers.
Therapy is a collaboration between therapist and client. My goal is to understand where you are at this moment in your life, help you to identify your goals and work with you, as a partner, to attain them. My approach to individual therapy is short term and goal oriented. I utilize Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address a wide range of problems (see problems treated below). These skills based approaches allow individuals to change unhelpful thinking and behaviors, improve awareness of, and control over emotions, increase tolerance of difficult emotions, and enhance ability to live mindfully in the present moment. Throughout treatment we will monitor your progress and make any necessary changes to help you continue moving towards your goals. Therapy sessions are typically 45 minutes weekly, though this may vary based on the type of treatment. Therapy can be brief (12-16 sessions) or may last longer depending on your presenting problems and goals.

The Loom was created as a space that recognizes the interconnectedness between an individual’s struggles and their relationships. Life’s challenges can impact our relationships, and in turn, our relationships can either serve as a source of support or contribute to the challenges we face. The Loom aims to help clients address these issues by exploring how individuals’ struggles affect their relationships and vice versa, acknowledging the dynamic interplay between the two. This understanding forms the basis of our therapeutic approach, which seeks to support healing and growth within the context of these relationships. Hi All! My name is Cari and not so long ago I was a college student..... or at least it feels that way. Looking back I can say I learned a lot in the classroom but more importantly I learned about myself. Mental Health is a issues that has always been swept under the rug. The most significant onset for mental health issues are 18 and onward. This places many college student in a place where they may feel isolated, alone and have no idea what is" wrong" with them. My practice not only focuses on mental health issues but also on substance use, the "hook up" culture, adjustment to college life and many more pertinent struggles young people face today . I did not just gain my experience as a therapist listening to a client on a couch. Much of my work was community based , in very high need neighborhoods in the NYC area. From working in homeless shelters, foster care, and substance use programs, the experience gained was invaluable . I offer more then just a set of listening empathetic ears but an approach to help you rationalize your thoughts and experiences .
