Psychotherapists in our office offer individual psychotherapy services. Our staff accept major insurances. Some of our staff do not work with insurance and offer out-of-pocket fees on a competitive sliding scale. In addition to being trained and practicing mental health clinicians, our small staff share a background in and passion for the humanities. We believe this influences the way we listen, stay calm and connected in the face of pain, feel familiar and grounding in strange situations, and make room for other things when stuck in a thought or a feeling. First call. Leave a message with your name, phone number, and a few times during the week when you know you can speak privately for up to half an hour with one of our intake coordinators, free of charge. The office for psychotherapy and the humanities is supervised by Dr. Mest, licensed psychologist and teacher.
I am Darrell Phillips, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh where I also obtained my certification in mental health. As a therapist, I enjoy my work tremendously and take it seriously. I have a sincere level of commitment, caring and compassion in making a difference in others lives. I believe that all individuals have the capacity to thrive, and my commitment as your therapist is to help you to remove the barriers that are keeping you from living life more fully. Providing psychotherapy is both a humbling and enriching experience. As someone who understands the transformative power of therapy, I recognize the courage it requires to engage in psychotherapy and I am honored to be a part of your process. I embrace diversity, in all of its various forms, and welcome the opportunity to work with all people. Throughout my professional career I have been fortunate to work in business, mental health clinics, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. Personally, I am a native of the Texas...but I love the Steel City and all of the wonderfully exciting things it has to offer! I’m passionate about learning and spending quality time with family and friends, which provides balance and wellness in my life. Are you feeling lost, overwhelmed, abandoned or rejected? Do you wonder what’s going on that your relationships seem unsatisfactory? Let’s sit down together to review what’s going on for you and what might be done differently. I am a Licensed Counselor, specializing in relationship issues especially those impacted by abuse, grief or trauma. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where a collaborative, therapeutic relationship can be conducive to change towards personal growth. I work from a trauma-informed perspective, integrating experiential, behavioral, mindfulness, and existential orientations. I work with couples and individuals experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief/loss including pet loss, parenting issues, trauma and abuse (emotional, physical, and sexual). Grief and trauma may be accompanied by other issues, such as addictions, self-injury, and relationship issues. At request, I integrate spiritual truths and Christian principles into therapy. Please note that as a LPC I am unable to accept Medicare or Medicare supplemental insurance.
My practice is over thirty years old. I focus on somatic and emotional aspects of addiction, trauma and utilize a relational field model in working with personality disorders.
I am an LPC with professional experience including over five years as a therapist and five years working in residential treatment settings, serving populations ranging from adolescents to the elderly. I operate from a cognitive-behavioral perspective, but also utilize positive psychology, systemic, and solution-focused theories. I have worked with a range of clients, including offenders, individuals struggling with substance abuse issues, families, couples, groups, and individual clients. Finally, I have a strong desire to provide counseling services to veterans and their families, given my family history of military service. My style is collaborative, intentional, and forward-focused. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other theoretical strategies to assist clients in establishing more effective patterns of thought and behavior. I also enjoy helping clients explore larger concepts as needed. I enjoy working with clients to establish healthier life patterns and experience positive life changes.
In a world that is filled with judgement and stigma, a safe place where you can be yourself without apologizing is hugely important. I am a LGBTQIA+ and relationship minority affirming therapist. We all deserve to be seen and heard for who we are and not what others want us to be. We all deserve a place where we can let our guards down and just simply be--not just parts of us, but our whole selves. It is of utmost importance to me that I provide a safe, supportive, respectful space. I believe you, the client, are the expert of your own experience and I genuinely look forward to learning about your worldview. My two and a half years of traveling through the Middle East and Southeast Asia expanded my view on life. It further taught me that much of our knowledge is socially constructed and not universal truth, and there are multiple ways to view things. I enjoy exploring different lenses in which we can view the world so clients can find what best serves them. I'm trained in mindfulness and enjoy sharing techniques to live in embodied presence and more fully in our lives--instead of allowing the mind to ride on autopilot. If you're ready to move from living out of habit to living with more intention and purpose, I'd love to join you on your journey. That first call can be difficult, but the outcome so rewarding!

All are welcome in this private practice. I have expertise in working with college students, undergraduate and graduate students. I am willing to work on short-term problems or longer term issues. I see therapy as a collaborative process with an emphasis on emotional safety, and creative self-understanding. I can provide therapy via virtual or in-person sessions.
Hi I’m James (they/them). I am currently accepting sliding-scale clients at $10-$100 depending on what you can afford. I am doing in-person work, or virtual (in PA). I am available for short-term therapy (through April), with a focus on somatic experiencing: a type of therapy can support you to build capacity to show up in the world and in your body the way you want to. Somatic experiencing (SE) explores ways our bodies hold stress, overwhelm, and trauma patterns. By bringing awareness to these patterns and learning new tools, you can shift the patterns held in your body that are no longer serving you. Somatic experiencing is geared towards resolving trauma held in the body. It can be used to address specific events/trauma, ongoing stressors, or to build resilience in a more general way. If you aren’t interested in somatic therapy and would prefer someone to talk and process with, I’m also down for that. I draw upon my background in harm reduction, clinical herbalism, and personal experiences with physical and mental health struggles. My practice focuses on supporting queer and trans communities. I’m currently working towards a masters degree in social work from Smith College.
We work with diverse population providing counseling, support and therapy utilizing CBT, DBT, Existential, Psychodynamic and Gestalt approaches. Learn coping skills to better handle stress, anxiety, depressive mood, anger, losses, academic challenges and relationship issues. We are here to facilitate your wellbeing in times of struggles and to prevent further problems. Let's connect that we can help you and facilitate your achievement! Best wishes!

My name is Nicole Grabowski and I am a holistic and intersectional therapist who approaches healing from a person-centered, anti-oppressive, and trauma-focused perspective. I strive to support you in understanding your resiliency, unburdening the struggles you carry, and navigating the barriers you encounter that prevent you from living the meaningful life you desire. I welcome and honor intersecting identities and experiences. Together, we will collaboratively work towards your goals and create a space for you to heal, grow, and bloom.
People seek therapy when they are in pain. This pain may show up as anxiety, depression, loneliness, compulsive behaviors, addiction or a combination of these. My job as your therapist is to meet you where you are and to understand your experience, your pain, and to help you move forward. The goal is to create a collaboration in which you have the support and safety to begin to challenge thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that may be holding you back and causing suffering. I will guide you in this work with warmth, humor, respect, and acceptance. I work with a variety of modalities, including psychodynamic, person-centered therapy and more symptom-focused modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. However, as with all therapies, it is the relationship we create that is most vital. I have limited evening and Sunday availability, but I primarily see clients during the day on weekdays. In your initial visit we will talk about your goals and challenges and you can get a sense of how I work. I look forward to meeting you.
